Sculptural Plywood Lounge Chair by Herman Miller
May 5th, 2010 - Posted in FurnitureThis is plywood lounge chair suitable for your modern interior living room. Both the dining and lounge models have chrome-plated steel or wood legs; the outer ply is cherry, walnut, natural ash, stained ash, or a colorfully stained birch; chrome-plated steel base is also available.

Designed by husband and wife Charles & Ray Eames in the 1940s, the sculpted seat and back of this chair fit the contours of the human body. The plywood makes it lightweight, strong and warm. This chair features a 5-ply seat and back, your choice of eight-ply legs and spine, or chrome plated steel legs and spine. Inner plies are maple.

Boldly original, Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair by Herman Miller is recognized as the best of modern design. The enduring charm of this sculptural chair has earned it a place in the permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art. To commemorate Charles Eames’ 100th birthday, Herman Miller introduced an exciting, new color palette for Eames’ favorite furniture design. Inspired by the work of mid-century textile designer, Alexander Girard, the latest colors allow the rich, natural grain of the birch veneer to radiate through the finish.
