Modern Condominiums 1111 E. Pike by Olson Kundig Architects
July 13th, 2010 - Posted in ArchitectureOlson Kundig Architects have designed Eleven Eleven East Pike Condos (1111 East Pike) located in Seattle, Washington. The ideas the condos design is to make a unique addition to an already walkable mixed-use neighborhood while respecting its history and character. 1111 E. Pike condos blends modern, even playful elements, with Capitol Hill’s rustic character within the Pike/Pine corridor. Situated half way between Trace Lofts and Monique Lofts, the six-level project will feature just 27 urban condominium homes (14 open one-bedrooms, 12 one-bedrooms and a two-bedroom penthouse).

The multi-use project will feature ground-level retail (Cupcake Royale), five levels of condominiums, and two underground parking levels. 1111 E. Pike reflects the industrial feel of the surrounding buildings, with its steel front door, panelized siding, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Each condominium features nine-foot floor to ceiling windows and open-plan layouts, with the kitchen partially enclosed—- a box within a box.

1111 E. Pike is a prime example of inexpensive living located amidst a busy urban center. The building is market-rate and meets LEED requirements for Development Density, Site Selection, Alternate Transportation, and Storm-water Management.
