The house is now have two stories and the main entrance has double staircase to the second floor. The main entrance will lead us to the elegant double staircase. At the ground floor, we would find living room, dining room, kitchen, utility room, library and two guest bedrooms with bathrooms. Up to the next floor, some rooms that are more private are located, such as master bedroom, sitting room, two dressing rooms, and a large bathroom with bathtub and shower. The swimming pool is located near the house with its own view of the surroundings.

The multi-use project will feature ground-level retail (Cupcake Royale), five levels of condominiums, and two underground parking levels. 1111 E. Pike reflects the industrial feel of the surrounding buildings, with its steel front door, panelized siding, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Each condominium features nine-foot floor to ceiling windows and open-plan layouts, with the kitchen partially enclosed—- a box within a box.

1111 E. Pike is a prime example of inexpensive living located amidst a busy urban center. The building is market-rate and meets LEED requirements for Development Density, Site Selection, Alternate Transportation, and Storm-water Management.

The “Our House” is a well planned, economically constructed, single-family home designed in the tradition of the Case Study Program, which was begun to provide modern, economic, well designed, housing in post-war California. The architectural design includes passive solar and natural ventilation to accentuate the emphasis on green building. Solar panels on the roof provide power for hot water, heating, and electricity. Natural materials were selected to create warm living spaces.

This home designed using classic concepts but interpreted like a synthesis of the same, styled and deformed to create a longevity effect, in the same way they are cool and contemporary. The materials used refer to classic styles, wooden floors, different types of marble like Yellow “Triana”, White “Carrara”, and Black “Portoro”, on the principal foyer solid columns of Yellow “Triana” marble, all conjugated with furniture, of style, they create total sophistication and coolness.

The illumination highlights the art and dramatizes its ambience, in which its implemented the use of lower technology, desk and foot lamps, sconce and common light bulbs.

It is a home that simultaneously looking towards the future (technologically feature rich), while remembering the low-tech comfort strategies of the past, a time before air conditioning and forced air units existed. The goal of this project was to design and construct a highly efficient home that would employ passive and active strategies to significantly reduce energy, water, and resource consumption all while delivering a modern, comfortable and livable home for a young family of six.

Through concerted research, experimentation and a good measure of faith, the house proved a success consuming 65% less electricity than state mandated standards, and 55% less water than homes of comparable size without sacrificing comfort or aesthetics. From an architectural standpoint it was important to dispel the common public misperception that efficiency and conservation has to look “hippie” or alternative.

Enjoying the outdoors while taking in the panoramic views of Chilmark Pond and the Atlantic Ocean is the focus of this family vacation home. The design blends traditional “island” design motifs with a contemporary aesthetic that feels neither historicist nor out of place. Wood siding and shingles, lead-coated copper and steel sunscreens form the simple palette of materials. Some elements—the master bedroom, guestrooms and garage—are separated from the family gathering areas to provide privacy and create a variety of exterior spaces. These exterior spaces (terraces, patios and screened porches) allow the owners to experience the natural setting in all kinds of climatic conditions. Traditional dryset granite site walls are used to organize the site.

The main living spaces are located on the top floor so they feature dramatic views of the San Francisco skyline and gather a lot of natural light. Main living spaces is decorated with white wall colour mixed with walnut flooring and ceiling. Contemporary furniture is the main element for main living spaces decoration. The bedroom is decorated with white beds mixed with walnut flooring. The bathroom is designed with modern styles and transparent glass wall was used as a separator for bathtub and toilet.

The goal for this project was to seize a unique zoning opportunity to build a new home on a desirable but never developed corner site in a dense San Francisco neighborhood. The naturally sloping site inspired the idea of a focal stair core wrapped by private areas. Locating the main living spaces on the top floor afforded dramatic views of the San Francisco skyline and garnered abundant natural light lessening the need for electricity. The corner location and internal spacial organization created an exterior expression that broke free of horizontal restraints to create a blend of strong horizontal and vertical lines punctuated by a cantilevered roof.
